Gangsta Josh Jarboe

Freshman Oklahoma wide receiver Josh Jarboe was dismissed from the football team today. Jarboe was a very highly recruited player out of Georgia. Last spring, Jarboe was arrested and expelled from high school after a principal saw him pull a handgun out of his car. The charges would eventually be reduced from a felony to a misdemeanor thus allowing him to attend Oklahoma. Apparently, that wasn't a wake up call. Jarboe's newest antic was a rap performed in an Oklahoma dormitory that leaked itself on to YouTube. The problem is that the rap contains lyrics involving guns and shooting people. Oops.

First of all, if this kid is only 18, then I'm 15. Secondly, I don't understand how doing a rap about shooting people is ever a good idea - especially on a college campus. For one, when you already have a possession of a firearm without a license and are charged with bringing a gun to school, you have to figure you are already on thin ice. Another thing I don't understand is why Bob Stoops let this kid of campus in the first place. Despite having a felony charge, he was placed on two years probation and had to serve 80 hours of community service. Although he finished up his degree online in order to graduate, it's not like he was already part of the football team. Stoops should have known better than to give a second chance to a criminal that hasn't even stepped foot on a practice field let alone started college. And finally, did anyone ever tell him that he has a future in the music industry? That was terrible.
