Take the Double Extra Points

Need to make some money this weekend? I'm leaving your bank account in the good hands of T. Rose. Thank me later.

4* Oklahoma (-6.5) over Texas
- The Sooners have been my pick to win the BCS all year as they are the most talented team in the country and Bob Stoops is determined to get by the recent Bowl disappointments. Both teams will have trouble running the ball against 2 solid rush defenses. However, this game comes down to a single matchup: Oklahoma's 4th ranked passing attack vs. the Longhorn's 95th ranked passing defense (just 1 spot above the Huskers). Sam Bradford may only complete 15 passes in this one, but he'll easily go over 300 yards as the Sooners win big by virtue of the big play. And if this one somehow loses, you can always comfort yourself with the knowledge that you would have lost just as much on your Morgan Stanley investment.

3* FLORIDA (-6) over Lsu - While we downgraded Tim Tebow's sexuality to a 'Strong Sell' months ago, we do love a Florida defense that has picked off 7 passes this season and returned 2 for TDs. This a must-win game if Florida wants to stay in the BCS title picture and the Gators could make a strong statement at home. While you may be holding your breath tighter than Dr. D when he sees the Indiana University Campus Police by the 4th quarter, we expect at least 1 Gator defensive or special teams score to put this one out of reach.

2* Arizona State (+28) over USC - Many of you would have thought I was nuttier than a Barack Obama economic policy advisor if I told you before the season that the spread on this game would be 4 TDs. The Sun Devils couldn't run for 100 yards in this game if the suited up Usain Bolt and played with 10 offensive linemen and will be going against one of the nation's best defenses without Rudy Carpenter. Backup Danny Sullivan gets the start for Arizona State and does have significant game-time experience. This one may be ugly at the half, but the Sun Devils have been playing solid defense in the 2nd half and we're guessing Pete Carroll has the back-ups in early to allow his banged-up starters to recover. Take ASU and you'll be more likely to see a 2nd half back door than if you were watching that Lanny Barby DVD that Sammy Vegas recommended.
